Payment

International customers - we can only currently accept payment through Paypal and Paymate, both can be used to make payment by Credit Card.

Australian customers - in addition to Paymate and PayPal, we accept Direct Bank Deposit, (save 2% by using the coupon given at Checkout) or Australia Post Money Order.

Payment Information is supplied immediately after Checkout. A link will be available on your Order Complete page, in your Orders History (under Orders Management), and also in your automatic Order Notification email.

Price Guide to Post, Packing and Handling Charges

We charge actual Postage costs, plus a small Handling & Packaging fee. We do not offer "Free Shipping", as this does not always offer the best benefits to all customers.

E.g the difference in Shipping Cost between an order of Heavy Tools or an order of Vermeil Findings is extreme.

Instead of Free Shipping, we have a Discounts and Bonus Points Scheme which we feel rewards customers more fairly, based upon the value of the order, not the shipping cost.

We use an up-to-date real-time shipping calculator and have a connection directly with Australia Post. Shipping and Handling costs are automatically calculated and displayed at checkout, the cost is determined by the weight of the final order and your location.

Although we offer regular uninsured shipping as a cost effective choice, we recommend Registered Post within Australia, and International customers should choose either Insured or Express Courier International. It is extremely rare that anything goes wrong but Alchemy and Ice cannot be held responsible for packages lost or damaged by the Postal Services, once parcels are lodged, they are in the hands of the shipping company. We will assist you in any your claim against the postal services.

Many small packages can be sent at Letter Rate, which in Australia starts at $2.60 and most International small packages start at $4.05 or $3.35 for New Zealand and Asia/Pacific.

Within Australia, Registered Post starts at an additional $2.60.

International Insured Shipping has an additional cost of $8.10 plus $2.15 per $100.00 on top of regular Parcel Rate Shipping prices.

We also have Express Courier International for larger orders which generally takes 3-5 business days to arrive at most cities worldwide.

We generally post orders out every day of the week, and your order will be shipped within 1-3 working days of your payment being processed. During Peak periods there may be slightly longer delays. Within Australia shipping may take 2-10 working days depending on your location. International Shipping takes 1-3 weeks for Airmail or Insured.

Letter Rate: The majority of our orders are sent as "large letter" packages in quality padded bags or our special box mailers unless you choose tools or other bulky products.

Any package exceeding these guidelines has to be sent as a parcel. A large quantity of small items may take orders past the above guidelines, letter post will not be an option at checkout once the weight limit of 500g is exceeded.

Express Post and Delivery times

All processed (cleared payment) orders received by 12.00am are usually shipped the same business day if possible - except during peak periods. If payments are received after this time the order will usually be sent the next business day. Some orders recieved and paid for up till 2.30pm may make the final post, it depends on how busy we are. Orders are generally shipped out within at least three business days. As we are out of the next day delivery zone Express Post normally takes 2 days or 3 days if you are also out of the next day zone.

Express Post is still a viable option when you consider that regular parcels can take 2-3 weeks to arrive.

Although we offer Express Post within Australia, we cannot guarantee delivery for any definite date. Location, time of payment, weekends, holidays and peak seasons all factor into the delivery time.

* International Insured mail can only be sent at parcel rate, letters/small packages cannot be insured by Australia Post.
