Make your own custom Cabochons, add Glitter, Colourant, Images or Objects. Simply pour your Resin into the mould, wait for it to set and pop out.
Tips: Although most people are quite happy with the finish when resin is cast and taken out of its mould, the surface may be a little dull. In addition, resin has a tendency to pick up any tiny marks, lines and other little flaws from the mould. To achieve a shiny glass like finish, there are a couple of different methods Jewellery makers use.
One method is to wait until your castings have fully hardened. This time can vary according to temperature etc. But this could be around 24 hours. You then need to Sand and Polish your Resin Castings using various grades of Wet and Dry Sandpaper. This can be time consuming but satisfying for those that take pride in hand finishing their jewellery.
Another method that is quicker and easier is to re-coat your castings, first stick your flat side of the cabochon down with Duct tape, then simply brush on/re-applying a thin layer of resin to the outside for the best quality finish!
